SUBJECT AND SCOPE OF THE COMPETITION

The competition site covers an area of approximately 1.78 ha within urban Block 11, planned in accordance with the PPPPN BNV.

The Competition boundary includes parts of the following building plots:

  • building plot GP11a behind the “Old Railway Station” building (Historical Museum of Serbia),
  • building plot GP11b planned for an educational campus (elementary school and preschool institution),
  • building plot GP11c containing the “Old Post Office” building (Archaeological Museum of Serbia),
  • building plot GP11d containing the transformer station building (excluding the transformer station building itself),
  • building plot GP11e planned for Savski Square (along Savska Street).

The subject of the Competition is the conceptual and design solution for the landscape and ground-level arrangement of a section of Savski Square, taking into account the design of the “Savski Square” metro station and the conditions related to the buildings and facilities in the immediate surroundings of the public space concerned.

Competition Scope

Parts of building plots 11b, 11c and 11d, as contact zones of the square, are included within the Competition boundary for the purpose of a comprehensive consideration of the site; however, during further implementation, it is not mandatory to apply the competition solution to these areas.
